  Kerama Kayak Center is a seakayaking guide service on Zamami island. The Kerama seas contain world famous coral reefs and have been registered with the Ramsar Convention.Furuzamami beach was ranked at Two Stars by Michelin Green Guide Japan.There are a lot of uninhabited islands and private beaches around Zamami island, a sea kayaker’s paradise. Please join us for a visit of the beautiful underwater Kerama world with the staff of the Kerama Kayak Center aboard a kayak.Our English is not perfect. but most of us having a working level of the language.

There may be times when you can not go to the uninhabited island on windy day. In that case we will organize on the private beach course.

Kayak rental are not available on Zamami Island.

About age
– Those under 6 years old and over 80 years old are not allowed to participate.
– For those between 65 and 79 years old, please contact us and we may ask you about your daily exercise habits at the time of registration.
* Participants over 65 years old will be asked to fill out a special pledge form.
* Minors who wish to participate alone must have a parent or guardian’s written consent.

About body shape
– Participants with a BMI index [weight (kg)]/[height (m) squared] of 35 or more are not eligible to participate.
– Participants with a BMI index between 30 and 34 will be asked to fill out a special declaration form.

About language
– For safety reasons, only participants who can understand and speak Japanese or English are allowed to participate.

Participants who fall under any of the following categories are not eligible to participate.
– Pregnant or possibly pregnant
– With mental illnesses such as depression
– With heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, arrhythmia, tracheal inflammation, pharyngeal system, respiratory system (asthma, pneumothorax, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, etc.), or epilepsy.
– Those who has been drinking alcohol (including those who hungover or drank alcohol the day before)
– With fever, using illegal drugs, and deemed dangerous by the organizer on the day of the event

Popular best tour! This tour goes to the uninhabitanted island by sea kayak.where we will go snorkeling. It is recommended for the person who wants to enjoy the sea of kerama. The course sees the ocean condition and the guide desides it. Let’s enjoy the world in a blue sea where the visibility is high. We are calling the color of the sea of kerama “KERAMA BLUE” ※It is possible to participate even if coming from Naha by the day trip

Our shop opened in April,2003 with a goal of providing a safe and amazing sea kayaking experience for our guests using top quality guides and instruction. Our sea akayaks, sportswear, and gear are of superior quality and we recommend it with confidence. Kayak goods, marine goods, Ryukyu glass, and handmade souvenirs are sold in the store.

What are kerama islands?

The Kerama Islands consist of more than 20 large and small islands scattered southwest from Okinawa Island’s Naha City. Four of these islands are inhabited: Tokashiki Island, Zamami Island, Aka Island and Geruma Island. The islands are some of the greatest dive points in the world, with varying underwater scenery, and are known for their untouched nature, whale watching tours and seakayak tours.

 

What place is the Zamami islands?　

Zamami Island consists of there hamlets: Zamami, Ama, and Asa.

• Zamami has about 23km of coastline
• The island’s area is about 6square kilometers.
• Zamami’s population is about 600 people.

There is much tourism during the spring,summer,and fall months for diving, sea kayaking, and snorkeling. In winter, many people come to go on tours to see the humpback whales that winter here. The beauty of Zamami is that it offers great nature opportunities all year long.

Animal,plant,and underwater creature of ZAMAMI

Many subtropical plants live in Zamami, including hibiscus, Kerama azalea, plumeria flowers, the sweeping Gajumaru tree, bougainvillea, and bananas. Aka,Geruma,Fukaji,and Yakabi islands also contain”Kerama deer”,which were imported from Kyushu 400 years ago and have evolved into their own subspecies. Keep your eyes out for rare butterflies and beautiful birds, as well.

In Zamami, there are some different restaurants to eat lunch or dinner. Breakfast is either provided at your accommodations or available at the 105 store, which opens at 7am.

Bank & Credit card

Zamami’s only financial institutuon is the post offive (Japan Post), which has an ATM machine and regular business hours. Credit cards are only accepted at a few establishments.
